The history of  plant of til is very old, about five hundred years old when there were few variety of plants found on the earth. This plant has many medicinal properties. Its seeds are rich source of magnesium and calcium which are very useful for human body. The oil extracted from its seeds is very much health beneficial in many aspects.

According to Ayurveda some health problems which are cured by  Til oil (Sesame oil) are as below:

Controls blood sugar: sesame oil is very effective in type II diabetes. The sesame oil should be taken orally to cure diabetes. This should be used for cooking food for diabetic patients. It reduces the glucose level in blood and reduces the blood pressure as well.

Hypertension: due to the antioxidants properties of Til oil (Sesame oil), both systolic and diastolic blood pressure are reduced. This oil also decreases the oxidation activities that worsen the condition of the hypertensive patients.

Kidney damage: due to its antioxidant properties til oil considerably controls and reduces the damage of kidneys which is caused by the fluctuating oxidation levels in human body. Til oil (Sesame oil) should be used to cook the food for this damage.

DNA damage: sometime DNA gets damaged due to radiations specially spleen and intestines. It mostly effect those people who are working in radiation chambers. As compare to other antioxidants it is studied that Til oil (Sesame oil) has proved to be 20 time more efficient in treating DNA damage.

Cancer control: The cancer cells grow very rapidly as compare to other body cells. Til oil (Sesame oil) contains certain properties which slow down the growth of these cancer cells. How to gain weight


The most effective and simple remedy to gain weight is to consume banana milk shake. It is a fast way to gain weight.


1) Another effective way would be to have banana thrice a day. This should be followed with curd or milk.

2) Muskmelon is beneficial in treating underweight problem. Have muskmelon three times a day as it helps in gaining weight.

3) Another effective way to cure underweight problem would be to have fruit diet with milk. While fruits nourish the body with sugar, milk provides the proteins.

4) An effective way to gain weight would be consume a glass of hot milk with a tablespoon of honey.

5) Take a cup of milk and put some almonds, date palm and anjeer (fig) in it. Boil this milk and have it when warm. This is helpful in treating underweight problem.

6) Mangoes are useful in gaining weight. Have a mango followed by a glass of milk. The other way would be to have a glass of mango milk shake every day for a month.

7) Raisins are beneficial in solving underweight problems. Have 30 grams of raisins every day for about a month. This would surely cure underweight problems.

8) Take 3-4 dry figs and immerse them in water. Keep them overnight. Have this twice a day to get cured of underweight problem.

9) Combine equal amounts of pomegranate seed powder, white muesli powder and Indian ginseng root powder. Take this mixture, twice a day for about a month, along with a glass of water or milk. Not only does it helps gain weight, but also tones up the body.

10) Intake 100 to 150 grams of bran with fruits. The best deal would be to take it with papaya. It works as an excellent appetizer improving digestion and reducing constipation.
